ABOUT “The Emerald”

The Emerald lies nestled on Wilford Lane, in the Centre of Wilford village, just on the outskirts of West Bridgford and Nottingham City Centre. Formerly known as the Tailors Arms, they combine the vibrant flavours of India with the electric atmosphere of a sports bar. Whether you're a local, a tourist, a die-hard sports fan, a food enthusiast, or looking for a family outing, The Emerald opens its doors to offer you an unforgettable experience. They pride themselves in being an integral part of the community, hosting free-to-attend events, fundraisers, and keeping our prices as low as we can to benefit our wonderful clientele.

WHAT WE DID AND WHY WE DID IT

The Emerald needed a spruce up - not physically - but their online presence wasn’t so good and Jade, a website, design and marketing specialist (https://www.jmmarketingdesigner.com) has created a new website and has been managing their social pages too! Jade introduced me to Rahul so that I could help give him the content through photography. I met with Rahul to discuss how we’re going to do this and how we get the images he wanted and what style he preferred. Having already had the online delivery service take some standard images on a plain background for the likes of Uber Eats, Rahul and I discussed a more natural set up, something that would feel familiar and comfortable to the customers and showed that Rahul and The Emerald is authentic and customer focused.

When a customer steps foot in the door at The Emerald, they’ll see the same tables, chairs, walls and art around the building that are in the images online… They already feel like they know the place, and that’s what makes imagery so powerful for businesses. This was the case for the staff too, so that Rahul can celebrate his staff and make them all feel apart of the team we did everyones headshots. Again, when you walk in the door and see the face of someone you’ve already seen online, it feels familiar and comfortable. It’s authentic commercial photography at it’s finest for a fine authentic business. We didn’t edit or manipulate the food in any way, we didn’t push burgers to the front or only prep half the food… what you see is what you get… and damn is what you get good!

We didn’t shoot the whole menu as we initially thought we would, but things change, timings change and ideas grow. I worked with Rahul and offered to fill in the time we didn’t spend by doing a couple of hours at their birthday event where cocktails were flowing and customers, family and friends were all having an incredible time too.

THE END RESULT

I had an amazing time working with Rahul and all of the staff at The Emerald. Honestly, I feel like I’m part of the family now! They now have a huge collection of images to last them a very long time for advertising their food, their events and all the incredible things The Emerald has to offer. Oh, and I did get to try the food, It’s amazing (and I’m not saying that just because I’ve been paid to work with them). Not only have we got awesome images, we have an incredible relationship and I hope to continue to work with Rahul at The Emerald for a long long time.
